We are in the field of Surfactants & Specialty Chemicals needed in manufacture of products for Hair Care, Body Care, Oral Care, Fabric Care, Surface Care and Sun Care. Our customers include Avon, Beiersdorf, Colgate-Palmolive, Dabur, Emami, Godrej, Henkel, Johnson & Johnson, L’Oreal, P & G, Reckitt Benckiser, Unilever and more. We export to over 90 countries in the World and we are No. 1 manufacturers in our line of business in India. Our current year revenues are expected to be Rs 650 crores and we plan to cross revenues of Rs 1000 crores in 2011-2012.
We have plants in Taloja near Mumbai, Tarapur. We are setting up a plant in Jhagadia, Gujarat and Suez in Egypt. Job Description
CORPORATE GOVERNANCE PROCESS
1) Galaxy’s corporate philosophy is to be a good corporate citizen and be a 100% Statutory compliant company wherever they operate, i.e. in India or abroad.
2) Corporate Governance is an enabling process which enables the other processes and the company to perform their Statutory and Legal obligations.
3) In Corporate Governance, we handle the following areas :
i. Indirect tax :
This includes all matters pertaining to
- Excise
- Customs
- Service tax
ii. Industrial Laws :
This includes all matters pertaining to
- Secretariat for Industrial Assistance – Ministry of Commerce (IEM)
- Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH)
- Food and Drugs Administration (FDA)
- Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB)
- MIDC
- CIDCO
- Electrical Inspectorate
- Inspectorate of Weights and Measurements
- Directorate of Steam Boiler
- Inspectorate of Lifts
- Controller of Explosives - Licenses
- Solvent Licenses
- Mathadi Board – for Mathadi Labour
- Security Guards Board – for Security guards
- Department of Statistics
- NMMC – for Property Tax
- Department of Science and Technology – for R&D Recognition
- Gram Panchayat – for Gram Panchayat Tax
- Development Commissioner – for EOU matters
iii) Labour Matters :
This includes all matters pertaining to
- issue of Show Cause Notices, Warning letters, etc.
- issue of Charge Sheets
- conducting Departmental inquiry against charge sheeted workers
iv) Contract Labour :
This includes all matters pertaining to
- Registration of Contractors with the Labour Department
- Preparing contracts with Contractors
- Employment of Contract Labour
- Monitoring of payments to the Contract Labour
- Compliance with the provisions of the Contract Labour Act
v) Intellectual Property :
This includes matters pertaining to
- Trademarks
- Copy rights
- Patents
vi) Agreements :
This is a major area of our operations and includes in house drafting / vetting of various types of Agreements required by various Processes for the Business operations of the company. S
vii) New Projects :
This again is a major area of our operations and involves all the required support and services for establishing the new projects within the country and abroad, including identification of land, checking of title, agreements with the land authorities, the various statutory permissions required to start the project, etc.
viii) Court Matters :
This includes handling all Court matters initiated by the Company or defending matters initiated against the Company in all Courts and Tribunals.
ix) IPO :
The company is planning to come out with an IPO. Corporate Governance Process will be involved in the massive pre-IPO and post-IPO related work. |
