Job Description: Associate / Sr. Associate, Reconciliation & Control
Job Summary
The job requires working for a Global fund administrator, specializing in administering assets of complex hedge funds. The position involves performing daily reconciliation of transactions, security positions and cash for all trading activity generated by clients.
Key Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following and others as assigned:
General Responsibility Specifics A. Reconciliation
Daily Reconciliation of transactions. Account types include but are not limited to: o Prime Broker o Bank o Custodian accounts B. Analysis
Analyze security and cash positions to identify discrepancies between customers position and clearing agent
Understand and minimize risk associated with breaks
Prioritize time accordingly to clear breaks by end of day
Understand and process trade activity in accordance with established operations policies and procedures C. Communication
Communicate effectively with team members and internal groups
Develop action plan for resolution of outstanding issues
Respond quickly and accurately to requests in a high volume, time sensitive trading environment
Job Requirements:
Education / Experience preferences
Bachelors in Economics or Finance
Associate - minimum 2-3 years of work experience in a Financial Institution; Sr. Associate – 3-6 years
Qualification Guidelines:
Self starter with the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment.
Excellent spoken and written English, and the ability to write business correspondence
Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel & Word)
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures, familiarity with financial markets and instruments
Ability to address internal and external audiences in a professional manner.
Ability to work effectively with project teams and clients
Demonstrate high ethical standards
Strong problem solving skills, detail and results oriented
Ability to evaluate priority and multi-task with minimal supervision and exemplary follow-through
