Senior Associate QA –QTP
Minimum 1.5 yrs of experience on Automation testing concepts. Candidate with hands on experience of QTP.
Job Summary
The primary functions of this position include ensuring conceptualizing QA plans, implementation, ensuring quality & timely delivery, ownership of project-wide initiatives & team leadership. A Senior Associate QA is expected to play a variety of roles such as QA Track Lead (TL), which usually consists of leading a track of 4-6 people or more as a part of a larger project, QA Analyst or QA Designer. In addition he is also expected to play a variety of project support roles.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following and others as assigned:
Areas of Responsibility Specifics
I. SDLC Is able to add value to the SDLC through improvement in the QA/Testing processes
Can participate in a design as a QA member and assist in the QA planning
Can plan, set-up and drive the QA framework for the SDLC
Can play the QA Lead in the Design/Implement phase
II. Testing Methodology
Is able to define and articulate the value of each phase of the Testing on a project to clients and team
Can articulate scope to the team and facilitate test case design
Is able to create and set up test data
III. QA Processes Ability to demonstrate knowledge of QA processes and guide to the team and assist in the set-up of these.
Can articulate the quality value add that these processes bring to team members
Able to make modifications to existing processes to gain efficiencies.
Able to architect QA processes and provide solutions to execute problems
Can do status reporting to the clients.
Teaches and inspire others and ensures that QA best practices are followed diligently.
IV. Defect Tracking Basic working knowledge of atleast one or more Defect Tracking tools such as Remedy, Test Director
Working and conceptual knowledge of Defect Tracking tools to help in proper tool selection and set-up etc.
V. Test Estimation and Planning Has good knowledge of Planning
Is able to create a MLP with clearly defined milestones, with assistance and direction
Can Plan and Estimate for a Track without assistance and direction
Drives the mid-level planning exercise for a track
Can quickly evaluate LOE, complexity and risk involved in adding a scope item.
VI. Test Automation Is capable of analyzing and fixing scripts
Has understanding of scripting best practices and put to practice
Creates detailed design of automated test cases and approach
Has worked with some test automation tools- Winrunner, Loadrunner, Rational Robot, QTP
Can write bug free automation tool code.
Capable of defining scripting standards and mentoring other people to gain excellence in scripting
Can automate test cases using a standard test automation tool
Can write and effectively debug automation tool code
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 4+ years of relevant experience
- Knowledge/experience in QA Processes, software lifecycle, testing methodology, test automation,
Defect tracking & test estimation & planning.
- Experience in QA tools, packages and methodologies
- Demonstrated leadership capability, preferably with leadership experience with teams of 3+ people
- Ability to effectively work as a part of a larger project team and clients.
- Frequent travel may be required for portions of the project
