Job Description

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY include the following:

The incumbent functions as the lead expert and primary focal point for IP revenue generation within the business enterprise and works on licensing opportunities through every step in the licensing process. A strong relationship with the Legal, Technology and Business leaderships will be essential for the Licensing Manager to be successful.

  • Review company’s businesses, searching for licensing opportunities in India
  • Liaise, co-ordinate and prioritize  with company’s global licensing team in determining the value and likely exploitation plans for identified opportunities
  • Lead the preparation and distribution of marketing collateral for identified opportunities
  • Support and coordinate the exploitation of identified opportunities to potential licensees
  • Use selling strategies to capture existing market opportunities and create new market opportunities
  • Develop sales prospects and assist in converting prospects into closed commercial deals
  • Monitor competitive activity and, in coordination with the Business Leaders, develop marketing strategies to increase market share
  • Work closely with internal and external resources to ensure that the value of company’s IP is maximized using an entrepreneurial approach where necessary.
  • Play a decisive role in resolving licensing issues and promoting licensing with the company.
  • Commit to and consistently execute operating processes that are aligned with the Business vision and operating model
  • Extensive travel (50%) for customer visits, tradeshows, etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Marketing; MBA would be an added advantage.
  • With total of 6-8 years of experience, a minimum of 2 - 3 years licensing/ marketing/ business development experience preferably in areas of Automation & Control/ Aerospace/ Specialty Materials/ Transportation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Ability to travel (50%)
