The incumbent will support company globally to insure that Sourcing Strategies are fully implemented and executed. The incumbent will work as Global Commodity Manager responsible for certain key commodities on a global basis to develop supply base, execute commodity strategies, identify and implement cost reduction ideas. The position will be responsible for supplier setup, contract pricing, supplier lead-time, quotation (RFQ), productivity and working capital.
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate Long Term Agreements with prospective suppliers to achieve year over year cost savings and build alliances with strategic vendors.
- Work with cross functional teams to identify major projects that need to be moved to another supplier either for cost savings opportunity or for other business needs.
- Work closely with suppliers and DE and manufacturing teams globally to identify and execute Value Engineering/Component Engineering opportunities to take cost out of product.
- Coordinate all New Product Introductions and Transitions for Contract Manufacturing Assemblies to ensure that there is not any line stoppage and that all quality, delivery, and pricing objectives are being met. Negotiate the lowest possible price up-front.
- Use various tools (total cost model) and processes to drive fact based decision making.
- Promote early supplier involvement of approved suppliers to optimize quality and produceability at lowest cost per program requirements.
- Act as company's representative on selected Global Commodity Teams.
- Execute contracts with selected supply base as required.
- Escalation point to resolve supplier performance issues of assigned commodities/suppliers.
- Ensure selected supply base is meeting company's initiatives for cycle time reduction, productivity, quality and delivery.
- Interface regularly with all level of personnel within company and supplier globally.
- Communicate any Transitions to the factory and receive buy-in for implementation timeline.
- Responsible for achieving business objectives: productivity, defect reduction, lead-time reduction, on-time delivery, and new supplier launches.

Ability to lead and support several concurrent projects and develop strong relationship within cross-functional teams.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies. Familiarity with electronic industry, electronic components and printed wired assembly designs and specifications.
Experience in negotiations with suppliers and in commodity management capacity required. Experience in new supplier development capacity desired. Material management experience desired.
Project Management experience and proven track record of successful leadership of high impact projects.

Excellent computer skills including Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
Must be willing to work in a results based, fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision.

Experience/Education Required/Sought:
College degree in Business; 6 TO 10 years Supply Chain Management / Manufacturing experience, MBA, CPM, and/or APIC's certification a definite plus.
